Meet Your Teachers

Pole Dancing is a personal journey of trust, challenges and love! Our Instructors are trained to make all our students feel comfortable and supported for the best learning experience at Impulse Pole Dance.

Sarah Murray, Owner and Lead Instructor holds her AFAA Group Fitness Certification, CPR/First Aid, Felix Cane Instructor Certification Program 2011, Pole Position Instructor Training 2010, Aura Cardio Pole Teacher Training 2012 and is certified to teach Cleo’s Rock N Pole classes. She has two children (read her story about pole dancing pregnant and body after baby struggles in the blog) and is also the founder and presenter of Pole for a Purpose, Florida’s largest annual pole fitness showcase to benefit charity. That being said, she is still learning as pole dance is a journey not a race and is about enjoyment and personal growth. Sarah also has an extensive technical dance background, attending Blake Performing Arts High School in Tampa as a dance student and dancing in college at USF. She found her true passion in pole in 2008 when she took her first pole dance class and never looked back. She has her Masters Degree in Public Administration from USF and her BA in Sociology and did a few stints in city government before fully committing her life to teaching and loving the art and sport of Pole Dance. Recently, she spoke to students at the HCC Dance Department about careers in dance and her journey as a studio owner.

Aly aka Gemma Lux, Pole Instructor and Studio Manager, was born and raised in Tarpon Springs FL. Influenced by her heritage, at the age of 4 she started Belly, Tahitian, and Hawaiian dance at Donna Marie’s School of Dance. She fell in love with the art and danced in these genres for 10 years before going on to cheerleading and gymnastics as a teenager. While searching for a new passion as an adult, she discovered pole fitness and became a dedicated student at Impulse Studios Pole Dance. Aly’s personality shines as a teacher who can relate to all types of students. She is an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor, a Cleo’s Rock N Pole Instructor & Trainer, Reigning USPDF Miss Sexy 2017, Cast Member in the Burlesque Troupe Femme’s & Follies, & created her own pole trick, The Lux, !

Miss Cristina, is our fabulous chair dance teacher who is now teaching pole, too! She loves making her class playlists sexy and inspiring keeping the students guessing what she will play for each new routine. She recently hosted our annual lap dance workshop which was a sold out success complete with chair tricks, tease, and tantalizing routine work. Her professional teaching experience makes her an awesome instructor! Charity is also a Mom of two pre-teen boys and has a full schedule, she teaches intermittently so she can focus on her family first.

Miss Jeannie, is a Riverview, Florida native, who began her pole journey 4 years ago at the age of 45. She has an extensive background in the fitness industry. 20 years! As a personal trainer, both weight and body weight training. She took her first pole dance class as a favor to a friend who didn’t want to attend alone. She was amazed at how hard every move was. Jeannie decided to give pole fitness a try and soon she realized it was the most total body workout she had ever done. In the first 6 months of classes, Jeannie gave up her 20 year gym membership to focus solely on pole fitness where she has thrived. Miss Jeannie recently placed 1st at PSO (Pole Sport Organization) in Atlanta, GA. We are so proud of her!

Miss Kaitlin is a New England native who first headed South back in 2015 and never looked back! She’s been living her best life in Riverview, FL with her husband and their hairless sphynx kitty, since 2017. Kait practices a wide range of movement arts, including: pole, aerial silks, lyra, and hooping. Kait’s advice to new students: “the short-term goal is to fully understand the inner-workings of a move, not necessarily to have achieved it. We all know how long it takes to build strength (safely!) and the patience it takes to keep working at a lot of the same drills and skills until things click. And, oh, when they do…it’s pure magic. At the end of the day, my goal is to feel like I put my students at ease during class and inspired them to keep trying.”

Miss AJ has been a student at Impulse since 2016; the empowering nature of the pole community inspired her to become a teacher a few years into her pole journey. Born and raised in St. Pete, AJ is currently working on her Master’s degree at the University of South Florida (Go Bulls!). She is a therapist by day and a mom to three fur babies. Through teaching, she aims to empower women to love their bodies and facilitate an environment of acceptance and growth.

This sounds like so much fun. But question. I’m Hispanic with huge lower body( booty and hips). 5’7 170 lbs. What do you think would this be feasible?

I am thinking of signing up for classes! This sounds like so much fun! I already have a couple people interested in joining with me. I just have a question about the intro class. I see where to buy the class but I don’t see when the class will be held and what I need to bring/do prior to the class. Any information would help! Thanks!

Hi there, sorry for our late response! You can see the class schedule via the schedule button on the homepage! From there, you sign up for the class online, basically saving your pole in class. You do not need to bring anything, and attire is comfortable work out wear. No lotion before class on your hands or legs (makes you slippery) and heels are optional. If you want to bring a group, each person would want to sign up seperately. Thank you! Hope to meet you ladies soon.

    Hi there!

I currently live in Ontario and will be moving to Brandon at the end of the month. I looked up the address too see how far the studio is from my home, but the address you have listed is telling me it’s located in the states. Could you tell me the specific address for your Brandon location. Thanks!

Hi Candice! We are in Brandon, FL (USA). There is a studio in Canada also with the same tag so to speak, “Pole Dance Brandon”. What is happening is the internet is pulling both of us up. I would call the studio you are looking for so they can give you the right address and info. Ty and happy poling! -Sarah
